Training: sign language certification for the Child Protection Center
Certified sign language training for CPE teachers in Djibouti, improving care for deaf children
Improve care for these children and integrate this action with the multi-sectoral action plan for children with special needs
The project
The team set up by Cayambe carried out the following actions:
- A survey of local skills in the use of sign language
- Organization of awareness-raising activities for Ministry of Education staff
- Training needs analysis and assessment
- Development of a training program adapted to the local context and the needs of the target audience
- Three training sessions, accompanied by classroom visits, to encourage children’s participation
- Recommendations for a draft strategy on the development of appropriate education for deaf and hard-of-hearing children

The project, which lasted 5 months, was carried out under the responsibility of a project manager and the technical director for education.
