The project
The project consists of a survey to examine harmful traditional, cultural and religious practices in schools. The aim is to understand the impact of these practices on students, and to propose measures to prevent and eliminate them. The survey aims to raise awareness of these issues among educators, parents and policy-makers, and to promote an inclusive, safe and respectful school environment for all students, regardless of their cultural or religious background.
Cayambe was commissioned to carry out these surveys.

This large-scale study was carried out over 6 months by a project manager and technically supervised by Cayambe’s Director of Education.

- Review of existing literature on the subject, including previous studies
- Qualitative and quantitative survey framework
- Selecting and training interviewers
- Field surveys in 350 classrooms
- Data cleansing
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Conclusions and recommendations
